The Annual General Body meeting of PTA was held on 6th May, 2023. The meeting was started with a silent prayer and welcome address was delivered by Mr. Jacob Thomas HOD ME.
The meeting was presided by the Principal, Dr. Leena A.V and she addressed the gathering and conveyed the importance of the interaction between class tutors and parents. PTA Vice President Sri. Jalaluddeen K.V addressed the parents and stressed the point that students give more importance to their studies than other activities.
The Annual Report of PTA was presented by PTA Secretary Ms. Leena Narayanan. To honour the outgoing PTA Executive Committee members, Mr. Sasidharan M, Mr. Sadanandan P P and Smt. Sheeba C were given Mementos by the Principal. Election was conducted and three new members were elected to PTA Executive Committee. The function concluded after the vote of thanks by Ms. Mary Sonia George, HOD CE.


DYUTHI’23, an integral part of the National level Techfest-UDBHAVA’ 23, was organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering from 27 April 2023 to 29 April 2023. The events started on 27th April with project expo “TECHZITE” which showcased the innovative ideas, technical skills and creativity of the students. Home automation system, line tracking robot, electric train were some of the attractions of the expo. KSEB expo was also organised by the department which included various types of cables, measuring instruments, insulators. From the second day, 28th April 2023, SHOCKAERONZ (high voltage shock room), CARMAZE (remote controlled car game), BLIND CIRCUIT (identify and draw a circuit in team) and JIGSAW PUZZLE were organised in which a large number of participants had taken part. On the third day, 29th April 2023, LOGIQ (technical quiz contest) was conducted with four rounds - Elimination round, MCQ round, Visual round, Rapid fire round. Students from various colleges participated in the competition.


ARCVIL 4.0 The National Level Technical Fest organized by the Department of Civil Engineering SNGCET, Payyannur was held on 27th, 28th , and 29th of April 2023. The event started on 27th April 2023 at 9.30 AM with the Nirmiti Exhibition, which includes the exhibition of various survey instruments and models created by students of the Civil Engineering Department. The second day started with Mix Design Workshop conducted by Mr. Rabeesh A, TTR manager of Ultra Tech Cements Pvt. Ltd. The workshop provided detailed insight into concrete mixing and mix design materials. Blue Print ( Building Plan Drawing Competition ) and Envisage ( Tech-games) were held on 29th April 2023. Numerous participants were there for each items. Rajath Manoharan (S6CE) won first prize in Blue Prints. Basila K V ( S4CE), Fathimath Zuhra ( S6 CE), Neeraj ( S4 CSE), Adithya Krishnan ( S8 CE), Nikhil Sai K ( S8 CE),FathimathulShahana,(S4CE),AshiqueMuhammed(S2CE) Muhammed Shammass ( S2 CE) won first prize in various items of Envisage.


The inauguration of the Master plan preparation by the Civil Engineering Department of SNGCET, Payyanur for LIFE Mission project of Government of Kerala was held on 28th March 2023 at Irattakulam in Peringome Village. LIFE Mission (LIFE - Livelihood, Inclusion, Financial, and Empowerment) is a complete housing security scheme implemented by the Government of Kerala with the aim of providing housing to all the homeless in Kerala.
The programme was presided by Smt. P.V. Valsala, President Payyanur Block Panchayath. The master plan preparation for the Life Mission Project was inaugurated by Smt. P. P. Divya, Kannur District Panchayath President. Mr. V M Unnikrishnan, President Peringome Grama Panchayath addressed the gathering. Mr. T J Arun, Local Self Government Department District Joint Director, Mr. Radhakrishnan, Payyanur Tehsildar and Dr. Leena A. V, Principal, SNGCET, Payyanur delivered the felicitation address. The programme concluded after the vote of thanks by LIFE Mission Project Co-ordinator Mr. P V Jaseer.
This project will be implemented in the 7 Acres land under the Revenue Department of Kerala at Irattakulam in Peringome Village. The Master plan will be prepared by the Staff and students of the Department of Civil Engineering, SNGCET.


In connection with WORLD AIDS DAY-2022 an AIDS awareness talk was conducted on 01st December 2022. Prof. O Unnikrishnan, HoD Physical Education delivered the welcome speech, he also administered World AIDS Day pledge. The programme was presided by Dr.Susan Abraham, Dean UG& PG. Elaborating on the slogan for 2022 “Equalize”, she mentioned that it is a call to action, urging each of us to address the inequalities which are holding back progress in ending AIDS.
Mr. Rajeev T M, Health Inspector, Family Health Centre, Kankol, Alapadamba Grama Panchayath delivered an awareness talk about AIDS and stressed that AIDS patients should not be stigmatised. The programme was concluded after the vote of thanks by Mr. Vaishakh M Nayanar, AP EEE.


A college level Power Quiz was conducted by KSEB in association with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in the college campus on 20th October 2022 at 1.00pm. 30 students were selected from various Departments of the college participated in this event. Mr. Jaison Jacob, Assistant Executive Engineer, KSEB was the event coordinator. Mr. Vaishakh M Nayanar and Mr. Abhilash Krishnan T.K. assisted the KSEB team for the smooth conduct of the event. The winners of the quiz were Thejasree T K(S5 ECE) and Arun K(S3 ECE) who are selected to participate in the district level quiz representing college. A token appreciation was received by Dr. Susan Abraham, Dean UG & PG on behalf of SNGCET.


Class PTA Meeting of S3 and S7 was held on 15-10-2022 in the Seminar Hall. The meeting was presided by the Principal Dr. Leena A.V. Mr. Sunder V, HOD CSE delivered the welcome address. Sree Bhakthi Samvardhini Yogam Vice President Sri. Rajendran T K addressed the parents. There was an interaction session for the parents in which Principal responded to the queries raised by the parents. The function concluded after the vote of thanks by Mr. Jacob Thomas, HOD ME. After the meeting, parents were directed to the respective Departments for interaction with the HODs, Class tutors and faculty members of the Department. Progress reports of students were distributed to the parents.


An awareness class on drug abuse was organized in the college on 11th of October 2022. The programme was presided by the college Principal Dr. Leena A.V, Mr. Abhirosh K , AP S&H delivered the welcome address. The awareness class was led by Mr. Subhash P, Circle Inspector, Peringome Police Station, Mr. Jijesh and Mr. Prajeesh. The police officers sensitized the students against the ill-effects of the drug use. They also presented visuals of the effects of drug intake and briefed about the major irreversible health concerns. They urged the students not to fall into traps laid by the drug peddlers. The programme concluded after vote of thanks by Ms. Mary Sonia George, HOD CE.


The ISO 21001:2018 Training Programme was conducted on 13th and 14th September 2022 by Mr. Subramaniam of Zandig TQM, Coimbatore for creating an awareness about the ISO certification for educational institutions. The Faculty and Staff members of the college attended the training programme. Participation certificates were issued to all the participants.


The 75th Independence Day or Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was celebrated from 13/08/22 to 15/08/22 for a period of three days as per government directions. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of Indian independence and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
On the event of Independence Day programme Dr. Leena A V, Principal welcomed the gathering and the programme was inaugurated by Shri. K P Balakrishnan, Honourable President SBSY, Talap. Col. (Retd.) Padmanabhan P was the Chief Guest of the day. He spoke about India’s achievements in the International level in contest of 75th years of Independence, he also spoke about the need of women empowerment in a developing nation like India. Sri. T K Rajendran, Vice President SBSY, Talap felicitated the function. After the function Honourable President SBSY, Talap Shri. K P Balakrishnan hoisted the National flag. Sweets were distributed to all.
Col. (Retd.) Padmanabhan P, Chief Guest planted an Ashoka tree on this occasion in the campus, he also inaugurated the planation drive of planting flower plants in 75 flower pots sponsored by Management committee to the Nature Club of SNGCET.


A Clean Energy Innovation and Business Incubation Centre (CEIBIC) is being jointly launched by the Energy Management Centre Kerala (EMC), Clean Energy International Incubation Centre (CEIIC), and Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council. CEIBIC’s goal is to achieve sustainable development through energy efficiency and application of renewable energy and environment-friendly systems in all sectors of the economy. As a part of the initiative a quiz programme on renewable energy was conducted at college. The winners were gifted with LED bulbs to promote energy efficiency.


The Convocation Ceremony of Sree Narayana Guru College of Engineering and Technolgy, Payyanur, 2022 was conducted for the students of 2020 and 2021 batches on 2nd July, 2022. The ceremony commenced with the Welcome Address by Dr. Leena AV, Principal. The occasion was graced with the Board of Directors Sree Bhakthi Samvardhini Yogam, Talap, Kannur. The Vice President of Sree Bhakthi Samvardhini Yogam, Talap, Kannur Shri Rajendran TK delivered the Presidential address. “Deekshant 22” was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr. Sudha UPV, Senior Scientist, DRDO Bangalore who lighted the lamp and delivered the inaugural address. Professor Raveendran K, Vice Principal and Shri Ashok Hegde, Administrative Officer, SNGCET delivered the felicitations. The Engineers Pledge was taken by the students. The Management of Sree Bhakthi Samvardhini Yogam honoured the former administrators of SNGCET who had toiled for the institution during their tenure. The toppers were honoured with memento by Shri CC Mohanan, Director, SBSY and the certificates were awarded to the graduates by the Chief Guest Dr. Sudha UPV “Deekshant 22” was a celebration of success for the Management, Staff, Students and Parents. The ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Susan Abraham Dean UG & PG students, SNGCET.


The International Women in Engineering Day was celebrated on 23-06-22. All the Women faculty and female students gathered at the Seminar Hall. The students were motivated by the Principal, Dr. Leena A V and Dr. Susan Abraham, Dean UG and PG Studies, they cited several examples of outstanding women Engineers and encouraged the students to aspire to excel in future. A large cake was cut and distributed to the budding women engineers.


The 8th International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June 2022 in the campus. International Yoga Day is a day to celebrate the Indian practice of yoga and to raise awareness about its importance. Mr. Rajeesh P, HOD ME who is also a Yoga Trainer delivered a talk on the importance of yoga practice in day to day life. A yoga session was conducted for the staff members of the college. Prof. O Unnikrishnan, HoD Physical Education delivered an awareness talk about the importance of exercise & practicing yoga regularly to achieve a stress free life style.


A Nature Club was constituted in the college on the event of World Environment Day. Nature Club activities was inaugurated by the Principal Dr. Leena A V. The main objective of forming the club is to maintain a green and clean campus. The Mission of the club will be to conscientize and promote an environmental – friendly Campus. Environment Week Celebrated by the Nature Club with various activities – cleaning campus, planting of trees, invited talk by Mr. Padoli Ravi, Environmental Activist and plantation programs by the students.

Bushra Jamshid, Memento was given by the Chief guest Lt. Col C Preveen . Smt. Bushra also addressed the parents. There was an interaction session for the parents. The Principal responded to the queries raised by the parents. The class toppers of all classes were given Mementos as a token of appreciation by the College PTA. Election was conducted and six new members were inducted to the PTA Executive Committee. The function concluded after delivery of vote of thanks by Prof. Raveendran K, HOD ECE & EEE. Thereafter class wise PTA (S2, S4, S6, S8) were conducted and progress reports were distributed to the parents.


APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University has resolved to join hands with the Government of Kerala to address the digital divide in the technical education. Under this scheme, the university is distributing learning materials, including laptops, to deserving students. As a part of this scheme two students from our college were eligible to receive laptops. We conducted a programme based on bridging the digital divide scheme in our college on 11th May 2022 in the Seminar Hall. Shri Ashok Hegde welcomed the gathering. The programme was presided by Dr. Leena A.V., Principal SNGCET. Honourable MLA, Payyannur Legislative Assembly, Shri T.I. Madhusoodanan Inaugurated the function. Distinguished MLA handed over the laptops to Mr. Sreehari K.K. of S6 Civil Engineering Department and Ms. Anusha Jyothi of S6 of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He also distributed memento to the students of 2018-2022 batch who are successfully placed in various leading companies. The function was honoured with the felicitation by Shri. Suresh Babu, Ward member, Kankol Alappadamba Grama Panchayat and Prof. K. Raveendran, Vice Principal SNGCET. Mr. Safvan I.M., College Union Chairman delivered the vote of thanks.


Training and Placement Cell is to guide students to choose right career and to give knowledge, skill, and aptitude and meet the manpower requirements of the industry. The industry is always on the lookout for students who are vibrant, energetic individuals and ready to accept challenges, attentive, a good academic background, fast learners, open to learning even at work and more importantly, good communication skills. Our college Training and Placement cell conducted a one day Seminar focusing on our students’ skill development and to prepare them for the interviews. This activity focused on the personality development to make the students reliable, with a positive attitude and right decision making. We were honoured with an eminent personality, Dr. Surekha S Nair, who engaged the session. She is a Human Resources Leader with more than 2 decades of transforming organizations by designing future-ready, sustainable and scale- able HR ecosystems. The session came to be a great success with our students getting an opportunity to interact with Dr. Surekha S Nair, who helped them to learn about the non-academic expectations that a company expects from the candidates.


The annual sports day was held on 04-05-2022. The sports day was organised by the Physical Education Department of the college. The event took place in the spacious playground of the college. Sports Day is an event that’s organised by the institution where the students and staff of the college participate in various athletic events. The students competed in various sports events such as 100 Mts, 200 Mts dash, Putting the shot, javelin throw, Discus throw, long jump, football, Badminton and Tug of War. Faculty/staff members also competed in the sports meet. Dr. Leena A V, Principal of the college distributed the certificates and trophies to the winners.


Chase the KEAM/JEE entrance exam with immense support from experienced power. Sree Narayana Guru College of Engineering and Technology , Payyanur is going to conduct online crash course for KEAM/JEE. Classes will commence on 9th June 2021


Arjun Raveendran KAP, Deepth purushothaman, Manas PK and Abhijith KM of Department of Mechanical Engineering have done an excellent project work with social commitment. The hydraulic lift which is used to lift the buses at KSRTC Payyanur depot was out of commission for the past few years. Students came up with an overhauling work to re-instate it so that now employees can perform the repair work with ease. The estimated cost to repair the same was around Rs. 5 lakhs but the students did it within Rs. 75000. The inauguration of re-instated lift is done by Shri. T I Madhusoodhanan, honorable MLA Payyanur at KSRTC depot on 24/07/21. Department of Mechanical Engineering has conducted a webinar on the topic "Confluence of Robotics & Industrial Automation- a Heuristic Approach" by Prof. SUMESH M, Faculty in Engineering Department, University of Technology and Applied Science, Al-Musanna, Sulthanate of Oman on 25th June 2021. The webinar was intended to acquire knowledge on “How to learn Robotics and Industrial automation by yourself".


Department of Mechanical Engineering has organized a webinar on the topic "Braking system in Indian Railways" by Dr. Vineesh K P, Assistant Professor, National Institute of Technology, Calicut on 22nd June 2021. Webinar discussed about different types of brake blocks and braking system in coaches and wagons of Indian Railways and the role of engineer during its design.


Department of Mechanical Engineering has conducted a webinar on the topic "Modern Engineering: Essentials for Excellence" by Dr. Shijin P Kozhumal, Assistant Professor, Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology Program, College of Justice and Safety, Eastern Kentucky University, Kentucky, USA on 18th June 2021. This webinar was meant to build the career of engineering students according to advancements in modern engineering and understand the essential for the excellence in modern industries.

With the advent of globalization and opening up of Indian economy to outside world, competition among industries has become stiff. To solve their engineering problems engineering institutions has a better role . Similarly, there is an urgent need to prepare engineering students for jobs in multinational companies, by exposing them to newer technologies and engineering methodologies. As per the instruction from the University to conduct Supplementary examinations for various semesters with strict health protocols, Principal, Sree Narayana Guru College of Engineering and Technology, Payyanur has constituted a “WAR ROOM” in accordance with the Covid-19 SOP/advisory from Health department with reference to the Circular from the University No. KTU/AD(EXAM)/2365/2020 dated 24.08.2020 and University No. KTU/AD(EXAM)/2365/2020 dated 03.09.2020. The Principal, Heads of Departments, Ward councilor, PTA secretary/president, NSS coordinator, non- teaching staff, representatives from Health department, Police, Fire & Safety are the members of the War Room. As the spread of Covid 19 is dynamically changing across Kerala, we at SNGCET undertook the challenge to conduct the examination in a structured manner. The help rendered by the President, Kankol Alappadamba panchayat is commendable. We have arranged separate examination facilities for Students who are Covid positive, and on primary contact/ Quarantine. Since University enabled option for the students to choose examination centre nearer home, around 60 students from various other colleges have attended university examination daily at SNGCET. The cooperation of everyone is worthwhile in this venture of driving away the pandemic.


The executive committee meeting of the PTA was held on 5 th October 2020 in the Meeting Hall of SNGCET. The agenda of the meeting was to honour the four outgoing members of the PTA executive committee, Sri. P Gangadharan, Sri.K Manoharan, Sri. Prakash Babu and Sri.V.M. Sreepathi. The meeting was conducted in the esteemed presence of the college Principal Dr. V. K. Janardhanan , Administrative Officer, Dr.Manjula Bhanu Vikraman, Dr. Leena A V, PTA Secretary , Heads of various departments and the parent members. The PTA Secretary delivered the welcome note . The Principal introduced the present AO to the PTA executive committee members and also acknowledged the valuable contributions made by the outgoing members in the development of the college and conveyed his gratitude for the same. Administrative officer Dr.Manjula Bhanu Vikraman, Heads of the Departments Prof, Raveendran K of ECE, Dr.Somashekaran K.K of H&S , Prof. Sujith D of CSE also expressed their gratitude to the outgoing members. In the meeting it was also informed to the parent members that online classes were conducted right from the start of lockdown and is being continued till date. Considering the pandemic situation , most of the students have now adapted to the process of online learning and are also prompt in delivering other academic activities in the online mode. The vice president of PTA Sri. P Gangadharan , who is also one of the outgoing members, acknowledged the achievements of the college in the last four years and expressed his happiness for having been a part of the college PTA. The other outgoing members also expressed their opinions and shared their experience of being active members of the PTA. The existing parent members Smt. Bushra Jamshid and Smt. Subhasree T.P also spoke on this occasion to bid farewell to the outgoing members. It was also decided in the meeting that the new parent members shall be elected after the college reopens. The Principal handed over mementos to the four members of the executive committee as appreciation from the college management for their excellent service. The administrative officer Dr. Manjula Bhanu Vikraman earnestly requested the existing PTA members to continue their unstinted effort in the development of the institution and its forward march.


An induction program for the newly recruited assistant professors in SNGCET was conducted on 9th September 2020 at Sree Bhakthi Samvardhini Yogam hall, Kannur. The event was conducted in the esteemed presence of the honourable Secretary Sree Bakthi Samvardhini Yogam Shri. K. P. Pavithran, Vice-President SBSY Shri. Rajendran T. K, the guest of honour Shri. Vidhu Sekhar P, Dr. V. K. Janardhanan, Principal, SNGCET and Dr. Manjula Bhanu Vikraman, Administrative Officer, SNGCET.


Mechanical Department of SNGCET has organized two day work shop with hands on training on the topic “Quad copter” in collaboration with Robokart.com & Innovation- cell UMIC, IIT Bombay . It is an initiative to apply the designing creative skills of the students not only SNGCET but to the students of other colleges also, apart from what they learn in books and laboratories.


The Department of Civil Engineering is organising a Webinar on the topic “GROW and Be a Star”. The speaker is Dr Surekha Nair, Director, HR, Eurofins India Pvt Ltd(India and Middle East) who has over two decades experience in Human Resource Management. The webinar will be an eye opener about to skills to succeed in interviews and expectations of the corporate world.
